Hudson Bay Lowlands

description Hudson Bay Lowlands Overview

The Hudson Bay Lowlands are a broad, low-lying plain around Hudson Bay and James Bay in northern Canada. The region contains extensive muskeg, peatlands, marshes, and other wetlands within a generally cool boreal environment. Its flat terrain and poor drainage have produced one of the largest wetland complexes in North America, supporting ecosystems adapted to saturated soils and short growing seasons.
