The West Siberian Plain is a vast lowland in Russia between the Ural Mountains to the west and the Yenisei River to the east. It covers about 2.6 million square kilometres and is one of the world's largest contiguous plains. Much of the region is flat and poorly drained, with extensive wetlands, peatlands, rivers, and boreal vegetation across western Siberia.
