Inocybe geophylla

description Inocybe geophylla Overview

Inocybe geophylla is a small poisonous mushroom commonly called the white fibrecap. It has a silky white to pale lilac cap and occurs in woodland and other habitats across Europe and North America. The species contains muscarine, a toxin that can cause a cholinergic poisoning syndrome with symptoms such as sweating, excess saliva, vomiting, diarrhea, and slowed heart rate, so it should not be eaten or confused with edible white mushrooms.
