Jerome H. Lemelson (1923-1997) was an American independent inventor whose work included machine vision, industrial automation, automated warehousing, and consumer electronics. The Lemelson Foundation credits him with more than 600 patents, including inventions related to video recording, cordless phones, fax machines, data processing, and industrial robots. In 1992, Lemelson and his wife, Dorothy, founded the Lemelson Foundation to support invention and inventors.
