Joe Heitz is a renowned Napa Valley winemaker celebrated for his single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon bottlings. He founded Heitz Cellar in 1961, helping to establish Napa Valley as a premier wine region globally. His estate wines are recognized worldwide for their exceptional complexity.

Heitz is highly associated with the legendary To Kalon Vineyard in Oakville, from which he sourced grapes for his acclaimed Martha's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. The estate also produces notable wines from the Beckstoffer vineyards. These single-vineyard designates command high prices and critical acclaim.

Joe Heitz established Heitz Cellar in 1961, making it one of the pioneer wineries of the modern Napa Valley era. He purchased his first 160-acre plot in the eastern hills of the valley. The winery played a crucial role in putting Napa Cabernet on the global map.
