Jonathan Shedler is an American clinical psychologist known for research and writing on personality assessment and psychodynamic psychotherapy. His article The Efficacy of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, published in American Psychologist in 2010, reviewed meta-analytic evidence and argued that psychodynamic treatments can produce substantial and lasting benefits. He also developed the Shedler-Westen Assessment Procedure with Drew Westen, a clinician-rated method for describing personality patterns and pathology.
