Kasåsen is the central Uppsala segment of Uppsalaåsen, a glacial esker that forms a ridge through Uppsala, Sweden. The ridge is also the site on which Uppsala Castle was begun in 1549, linking a Quaternary landform with the city's later political and architectural history. Kasåsen is therefore identified both as a named urban section of the esker and as the elevated setting of the castle.
