description Kelly West Overview
Kelly West is a deeply eroded impact structure in the central Northern Territory of Australia, southwest of Tennant Creek. The visible feature is a roughly 2-kilometre circular hill of Palaeoproterozoic quartzite interpreted as the central uplift of a larger crater; shatter cones provide key evidence for an impact origin. Gravity studies have been used to infer an original diameter of about 6.6 kilometres, while the structure's precise age remains poorly constrained.
