description Komosse Overview

Komosse is an extensive raised-bog complex in southern Sweden, principally within Västra Götaland County and extending toward Jönköping County. Its open peatlands, pools, wet hollows, and surrounding forest form a habitat for plants and birds adapted to nutrient-poor, waterlogged conditions. The area is protected as a nature reserve and recognized under the Ramsar Convention as a wetland of international importance, making it relevant to conservation, field study, and low-impact outdoor recreation.
