Larry Page

Larry Page co-founded Google with Sergey Brin in 1998 and served as CEO during the company's early growth and again from 2011 to 2015. He later became CEO of Alphabet, Google's parent holding company, before stepping down in 2019.

PageRank is the web page ranking algorithm developed by Larry Page while he was a PhD student at Stanford University, and it became the foundational technology behind Google Search. The algorithm ranks pages based on the quantity and quality of incoming links, assigning each page a relative importance score.

Larry Page earned his Bachelor of Science in computer engineering from the University of Michigan. He then began a computer science PhD program at Stanford University, where he met Sergey Brin and developed the research that led to Google.

Larry Page became CEO of Alphabet Inc., the holding company created in 2015 as part of a corporate restructuring that made Google a subsidiary. Alphabet now encompasses Google as well as other ventures such as Waymo and Verily.
