description Lo-En Guyot Overview
Lo-En Guyot, also known as Hess, is a flat-topped seamount in the Marshall Islands of the western Pacific. It is an Albian-Campanian guyot, a submerged volcanic edifice whose summit was shaped near sea level before later subsidence. Lo-En was drilled at Site 872 during Ocean Drilling Program Leg 144, and the recovered material is used to study Cretaceous carbonate platforms and the drowning of Pacific guyots.
