description Logoisk Overview
Logoisk is a buried meteorite impact crater near the city of Logoisk in Minsk Region, Belarus. Catalogues give it a diameter of 15 kilometres and an age of 42.3 ± 1.1 million years, placing the impact in the Eocene Epoch. Drilling and shock-related geological evidence, including shatter cones and mineral deformation, established its impact origin; the structure is not exposed at the surface. It is relevant to studies of Paleogene impacts and impact geology.
