Macá fumaroles

description Macá fumaroles Overview

Macá fumaroles are gas vents associated with Macá, a glacier-covered stratovolcano in Chilean Patagonia. The volcano rises to about 2,960 m northwest of Puerto Aisén, lies within a caldera, and has a summit lava dome plus flank cinder cones and lava domes along a northeast-trending fissure. Its volcanic setting is also linked to the Liquiñe-Ofqui fault zone, making the vents part of a broader arc and fault-controlled system rather than a standalone hot spring site.
