Marduk - World Funeral

World Funeral marks the recorded debut of vocalist Mortuus (also known from Funeral Mist), who replaced former singer Legion in Marduk. Mortuus brought a different vocal delivery to the band compared to Legion's style. He has remained Marduk's frontman on subsequent albums.

World Funeral was released in 2003 on Regain Records, a Swedish label that has been home to numerous Scandinavian extreme metal acts. Marduk had previously released albums on Osmose Productions before moving to Regain. The Regain Records era of Marduk encompasses several of the band's mid-period releases.
