Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!

To defeat Mike Tyson in the game's notoriously difficult final bout, players must rely entirely on memorizing his visual cues. In the first round, Tyson's signature move is an instant-knockdown "one-hit uppercut," which can only be dodged by pressing the dodge button exactly when he blinks. Players must survive the first 90 seconds before they can even attempt to land a punch.

The game was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1987. It was developed and published by Nintendo, bringing the arcade classic into living rooms with completely new mechanics and graphics. The game's exceptional difficulty and unique timing-based combat made it one of the most iconic titles on the console.

Nintendo's licensing agreement with Mike Tyson expired in 1990, and due to financial disputes and Tyson's personal controversies, it was not renewed. In subsequent printings, Nintendo replaced Tyson with a generic white boxer named "Mr. Dream." The gameplay remained identical, but the final boss sprite and name were altered.

Players control a young, diminutive boxer named Little Mac. Despite his small stature, Mac fights his way up the ranks of the World Video Boxing Association (WVBA) to face opponents many times his size. His trainer, Doc Louis, provides advice and support between rounds.
