description Mochikoro Overview

Mochikoro is a Japanese logic puzzle published by Nikoli, sharing similarities with the better-known Nurikabe puzzle. In Mochikoro, solvers must create rectangular white islands of the size indicated by numbered cells, while ensuring that all shaded cells form a single connected region without any 2x2 blocks of shaded cells. Unlike Nurikabe, where islands must have exactly one number, Mochikoro islands can contain multiple numbers as long as the total size matches the sum of the numbers within.

insights Ranking position

Mochikoro ranks #83 of 93 in the Logic Puzzle ranking, behind Araf, ahead of Rossini Sudoku.
