help Pentopia FAQ

What is the goal in Pentopia?

The goal is to place selected pentominoes into a grid without overlap or touching. Pentominoes are shapes made from five connected square cells.

How do the arrows work in Pentopia?

An arrow clue shows the directions in which the nearest pentomino cells can be found from that clue square. The relevant directions can include up, down, left, and right.

Does Pentopia use all twelve pentominoes?

Not necessarily. A puzzle uses a subset of the twelve distinct pentominoes, so solving depends on identifying which pieces can satisfy the grid and arrow constraints.

Where did the Pentopia puzzle idea come from?

Pentopia was created by Bram de Laat for the Hybrids puzzle test in March 2011. Its design combines pentomino placement with proximity-style arrow clues.
