description Morito Overview

Morito is a large iron meteorite found near the community of Morito in Chihuahua, Mexico. Classified within the IIIAB chemical group, it consists chiefly of iron-nickel metal and represents material produced inside a differentiated asteroid. The mass was known locally long before modern scientific study and became a prominent landmark as well as an important Mexican meteorite specimen.
