Pesyanoe

Pesyanoe is classified as an aubrite, a rare type of enstatite achondrite meteorite. Aubrites are distinguished by their very low iron content and almost pure enstatite pyroxene composition, indicating formation under highly reducing conditions.

Pesyanoe is notable for containing clasts of differing lithologies, indicating that it is a regolith breccia—a rock formed from surface material on its parent body that was lithified by impact. This makes it valuable for understanding the geological history of the aubrite parent body.

Aubrites are thought to originate from a single parent body, and the asteroid 3103 Eger is one candidate due to its spectral similarity. However, the identification of the exact parent body remains an area of ongoing research.

Pesyanoe was found in the Pesyanoe region, and the meteorite has been studied in Russian and international collections. As with many finds from the former Soviet Union, exact details of the original recovery circumstances can be limited in Western literature.
