Mayo Belwa

description Mayo Belwa Overview

Mayo Belwa is an aubrite meteorite that fell in Adamawa State, Nigeria, in 1974 and was recovered as a single stone. Aubrites are rare achondrites composed predominantly of nearly iron-free enstatite, indicating formation under highly reducing conditions. Its mineralogy links it to a small, unusual class of differentiated meteorites rather than to the more common ordinary chondrites.
