Muiderslot is a moated medieval castle at Muiden in the Netherlands, near the former mouth of the River Vecht. Count Floris V built a castle on the site in the late 13th century; after its destruction, the present structure was erected in the following century. In the 17th century it was the residence of writer and historian P. C.
Hooft, whose circle of artists and scholars became known as the Muiderkring, and the castle now operates as a national museum.
