The Murinsel, or Mur Island, is an artificial floating platform situated on the Mur River in Graz, Austria. Constructed in 2003 when the city served as the European Capital of Culture, the structure was designed by New York artist Vito Acconci. Shaped to resemble a seashell, the platform is constructed from steel and glass and is connected to the riverbanks by two pedestrian footbridges. It serves as a modern architectural landmark that houses a cafe, an open-air amphitheater, and a children's play area.
