description Omega Chess (David Taber) Overview
help Omega Chess (David Taber) FAQ
What makes Omega Chess different from standard chess?
Omega Chess uses a 10x10 board with additional corner squares and adds the Champion and Wizard pieces. Most traditional chess pieces and core rules, including checkmate and castling, remain recognizable.
How does the Champion move in Omega Chess?
The Champion can move one square orthogonally or leap two squares in any direction. Its ability to jump over intervening pieces gives it tactical options that a rook or knight does not have in standard chess.
How does the Wizard move in Omega Chess?
The Wizard can move one square diagonally or make an elongated knight-style leap of three squares by one square. Like a bishop, it remains bound to squares of one color.
Can Omega Chess be played online?
The official Omega Chess website provides a free browser version with an interactive 10x10 board. Players can also study sample games featuring the Champion and Wizard before using a physical set.
