Oneida Lake is the largest lake located entirely within New York State, United States, covering approximately 207 square miles in the central part of the state. It is a relatively shallow glacial lake historically significant to the Oneida Nation, one of the six nations of the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) Confederacy. The lake has long supported commercial and recreational fisheries, particularly for walleye and yellow perch, and is connected to the New York State Canal System, enabling both boating and seasonal navigation.
