The Peace River is a major river of western Canada, flowing about 1,923 kilometers through British Columbia and Alberta. It begins in the Rocky Mountain region, passes through Williston Lake formed by the W. A. C.

Bennett Dam, and continues into the Mackenzie River system through the Slave River. The river is important for hydroelectric production, agriculture, transportation, and northern watershed management.
