Peter Thiel is a German-born American entrepreneur, investor, and political donor who co-founded PayPal and later co-founded the data analytics company Palantir Technologies. In 2004 he made Facebook's first major outside investment and joined its board. He also founded the venture-capital firm Founders Fund and wrote Zero to One with Blake Masters, becoming known for arguments about monopoly, technological progress, and contrarian business strategy.
