Plas Johnson is an American saxophonist who established himself as a highly prolific studio musician in Los Angeles during the 1950s and 1960s. He is most widely recognized for performing the iconic tenor saxophone melody on Henry Mancini's 1963 "Pink Panther Theme." Beyond this famous recording, Johnson's versatile tenor saxophone work was featured on a wide array of television and film scores, as well as numerous pop and rhythm and blues records by artists such as Ricky Nelson, Ray Charles, and B.B. King.
