Queen Kong

description Queen Kong Overview

"Queen Kong" is a 1976 British comedy parodying "King Kong" with the roles reversed: a female giant ape, captivated by a male movie star, is brought from her island to 1970s London, where she escapes and climbs city landmarks. Directed by Frank Agrama, it stars Robin Askwith and Rula Lenska. Producer Dino De Laurentiis, whose own "King Kong" remake appeared the same year, took legal action that curtailed the parody's distribution, leaving it little seen for decades, particularly in the United States.
