The Reading T-1 was a class of 4-8-4 Northern type steam locomotives used by the Reading Company, an American railroad. Originally built in 1923 as 4-6-2 Pacifics, they were rebuilt in 1945 with 4-8-4 wheel arrangements for improved performance. The Reading T-1s were primarily used for heavy freight and passenger service. Four of these locomotives survived into the preservation era and were famously used in the Reading Railroad's "Iron Horse Rambles" excursion program in the 1960s and 1970s, making them among the last mainline steam locomotives to operate in regular service in the United States.
