Rib Knit

description Rib Knit Overview

Rib knit is a knitted textile structure made with alternating vertical columns of knit and purl stitches, producing raised ribs on both faces of the fabric. This construction gives the material substantial crosswise elasticity and allows it to recover toward its original width, although performance varies with fiber content and stitch structure. Rib knits are commonly used for cuffs, neckbands, waistbands, fitted tops, and other garment sections that need stretch and a close fit.
