description Seven Guitars Overview

Seven Guitars is a play by August Wilson, first produced in the 1990s and set in Pittsburgh's Hill District in 1948. Beginning after the funeral of blues guitarist Floyd Barton, it looks back at the events surrounding his return home, his ambitions, and his death through the lives of seven characters. The drama belongs to Wilson's Pittsburgh Cycle, which portrays African American experience across successive decades of the 20th century.
