Shombole

description Shombole Overview

Shombole is an extinct volcanic mountain in southern Kenya, near the border with Tanzania. It is associated with the volcanic landscape of the East African Rift and is distinguished by prominent tuff-cone formations, which consist of consolidated volcanic ash and related fragmental material. These formations were produced during the Pleistocene, a period extending from about 2.58 million to 11,700 years ago.
