The small-eyed sphinx, Paonias myops, is a moth in the family Sphingidae. Adults vary from brown to black, with wavy forewing lines and a yellow patch enclosing a single black-rimmed eyespot on each hindwing; females are usually larger than males. Its range extends from Canada through the United States to Mexico, and its caterpillars feed on woody plants including western chokecherry, black cherry, serviceberry, and basswood.
