Speedy Gonzales

description Speedy Gonzales Overview

Speedy Gonzales is a 1955 Warner Bros. animated short film directed by Friz Freleng, featuring the Looney Tunes character known as "The Fastest Mouse in All Mexico." In the short, Speedy is recruited by a group of Mexican mice to rescue their friends from a guard posted at a border checkpoint, resulting in a series of escalating confrontations with Sylvester the Cat. The film won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Subject at the 28th Academy Awards, establishing Speedy Gonzales as a recurring star in subsequent Warner Bros. cartoons.
