description Stannern Overview

Stannern is a eucrite meteorite that fell in Moravia, in the present-day Czech Republic, on 22 May 1808. Eucrites are basaltic achondrites belonging to the HED clan and are generally interpreted as material from the crust of the asteroid Vesta. Stannern gives its name to the Stannern trend, a geochemical pattern among certain eucrites marked by relatively high incompatible-element and rare-earth-element abundances.
