Johnstown is a diogenite meteorite that fell near Johnstown, Colorado, in July 1924 after a witnessed fireball and detonations. About 23 kilograms of material were recovered, making it a substantial documented diogenite fall. Its coarse-grained, orthopyroxene-rich composition places it within the howardite-eucrite-diogenite clan, meteorites generally interpreted as samples from deep within the crust of asteroid 4 Vesta.
