Steel Battalion

description Steel Battalion Overview

Steel Battalion is a 2002 first-person mech simulation developed and published by Capcom for the original Xbox. It was sold with a large dedicated controller featuring twin sticks, pedals, numerous switches and roughly 40 buttons, including an emergency-ejection control; the peripheral is required for play. Its demanding startup procedures, limited visibility, ammunition management and permanent-loss consequences were designed for players seeking a detailed vehicle simulation rather than a conventional action game.

Steel Battalion ranks #19 of 157 in the Mecha Game ranking, behind Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme Vs. 2 X Boost, ahead of SD Gundam G Generation F.
