Suillus americanus, commonly called the chicken fat mushroom, is a bolete-forming fungus in the family Boletaceae. It produces a bright yellow, often slimy cap, yellow tubes or pores, and a stem with darker glandular spots. The species forms ectomycorrhizal partnerships with five-needled pines and is especially associated with eastern white pine (Pinus strobus) in eastern North America; it is reported as edible.
