description Tapti Overview

The Tapti, or Tapi, is a west-flowing river of central India. About 724 kilometers long, it rises near Multai in Madhya Pradesh, crosses Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat, and empties into the Gulf of Khambhat, an inlet of the Arabian Sea. The river runs south of the Narmada and is one of the principal rivers draining the western side of the Indian peninsula.
