description The Taffetas Overview

The Taffetas is a musical revue conceived by Rick Lewis that premiered Off-Broadway at the Cherry Lane Theatre in August 1988. It follows four fictional sisters from Muncie, Indiana, who pursue a break on a national television talent show while performing songs associated with 1950s girl groups such as the McGuire Sisters, the Fontane Sisters, and the Chordettes. The show uses period styling and four-part harmony to frame its portrait of American popular music.
