Tlacopan, also called Tacuba, was a Nahua city-state in the Valley of Mexico and a member of the Aztec Triple Alliance. The alliance was formed in 1428 by Tlacopan, Tenochtitlan, and Texcoco, which cooperated in warfare and the collection of tribute. Tlacopan held the smallest share of the alliance's tribute, while Tenochtitlan and Texcoco received larger portions of the revenue from subordinate regions.
