description Unicolor moray Overview
The unicolor moray (Echidna unicolor), also called the pale moray, is a marine moray eel of the tropical Indo-West Pacific. It occurs on shallow lagoon reefs and drop-offs, with records extending from East Africa and Australia to islands of the central Pacific; it has also been recorded from a submarine cave connected to the sea at Christmas Island. Its uniform tan to light-brown body and dark ring around each eye are its defining visible features.
