Uppsala Temple (historical)

description Uppsala Temple (historical) Overview

The Uppsala Temple was a reported pre-Christian religious center at or near Gamla Uppsala in Sweden. The most detailed surviving account comes from the eleventh-century writer Adam of Bremen, who described a temple associated with the worship of Thor, Odin, and Freyr and with ritual gatherings. Because no securely identified temple building has been established, knowledge of the site depends on historical testimony, archaeology, and later interpretation.
