Vantablack is a substance composed of a forest of vertical carbon nanotubes that absorbs up to 99.965% of visible light. Developed by Surrey NanoSystems, it is the closest humanity has come to creating a perfect black hole in a physical material. It is primarily used for high-end scientific, aerospace, and military applications to reduce stray light. While its performance is unmatched, it is extremely fragile and cannot be purchased by the general public, requiring specialized application processes that limit its accessibility to industrial and research sectors.
