Vulcanodon karibaensis is an early sauropod dinosaur known from Early Jurassic rocks near Lake Kariba in Zimbabwe. Its fossils include much of the pelvis, hind limbs, forelimbs, and tail, but no confirmed skull, so its diet and appearance are reconstructed partly from related sauropods. The strong, columnar limbs and specialized feet identify it as an early member of the lineage that later produced the giant, long necked sauropods.
