Wami River

description Wami River Overview

The Wami River is a major river of eastern Tanzania that rises in the Eastern Arc Mountains and flows eastward to the Indian Ocean at Saadani. Its course is about 637 kilometers long and includes a broad basin of wetlands, agricultural land, savanna, and coastal habitats. The river passes through or near the Wami-Mbiki Wildlife Management Area and is the only perennial water source for terrestrial and aquatic wildlife in Saadani National Park.
