Yamaha Civante

The Yamaha Civante is a road-oriented commuter e-bike designed for paved urban travel and longer daily rides. It uses a mid-drive motor, an integrated battery, an LCD display, and a belt-drive-style maintenance focus in descriptions of the model.

The Civante is generally specified with a conventional chain and multi-speed drivetrain rather than a belt drive. That makes the belt-drive description unreliable for this model and is an important distinction when planning maintenance.

Yamaha advertised range figures that vary with assist mode, terrain, rider weight, and battery condition, with approximately 45 miles often used as a practical reference. Actual range can be much lower in high-assist riding or on steep routes.

Its mid-drive motor is useful on hills because it can work through the bicycle's gears rather than driving only the rear wheel. Riders should still compare the motor generation, gearing, and battery size when evaluating a used Civante.
