description Apatokephalus Overview

Apatokephalus is an extinct genus of remopleuridid trilobites within the order Asaphida. It is chiefly known from Tremadocian, or Early Ordovician, rocks, although Cambrian Stage 10 records have also been discussed. The genus is distinguished by an urceolate glabella flanked by long arcuate palpebral lobes and by a distinct preglabellar field, characters used in separating it from related remopleuridids.
