Who administers the GMAT, and is it an ETS exam?

The GMAT is owned and administered by the Graduate Management Admission Council, not ETS. ETS administers competing exams such as the GRE and TOEFL.

What sections are on the current GMAT?

The current exam has Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, and Data Insights sections. The older Analytical Writing Assessment and Sentence Correction formats are not part of this version.

How long is the GMAT and how many questions does it contain?

The current GMAT contains 64 questions and has 2 hours and 15 minutes of testing time. Optional breaks and check-in procedures make the total appointment longer.

Can I take the GMAT online instead of at a test center?

GMAC offers both test-center and online appointments, subject to current regional availability and identification rules. Business schools generally receive the same GMAT score scale regardless of which delivery method was used.
