Greyfriars Kirkyard is a historic cemetery in Edinburgh, Scotland, located on the grounds of a Franciscan friary dissolved in 1559. Established as a burial ground in 1562, it became the primary site for Covenanters executed during the "Killing Time" in the 17th century. The kirkyard is also widely recognized as the resting place of the 19th-century Skye Terrier Greyfriars Bobby, as well as several notable Scottish figures like geologist James Hutton.
